Flybusters Antiants plays an active role in the biosecurity sector through our FBA Consulting division. Our consultants work with the New Zealand, Australian and Pacific governments and private sector organisations on a variety of biosecurity issues, providing advice and services to resolve biosecurity issues.
Flybusters Antiants services the pest control and biosecurity industry through import, formulation, manufacture and supply of pest control products in New Zealand and the Pacific Region. It holds a number of registrations for pest control and specifically ant control products.
John and Vivienne Van Dyk started Flybusters Insect Control (NZ) Ltd and from small beginnings and lots of hard work, the company continues to be passionate about pest control and the biosecurity of New Zealand.
How it all began...
The idea first came to us during a brainstorming session after a year doing business studies at Polytech in Wellington.
What was your vision in the beginning?
To start a business that was different and for it to grow into something that mattered.
What were the initial highs and lows?
For the first few years it was a lot of hard work but in the end our perseverance prevailed and the business grew over the years.
How do you feel about the business now?
We have now different divisions within the company with a diverse range of staff. We feel very positive for the future of the company. When in previous years the winter proved very slow for us, we now have work all year round and a base of full time staff which is very satisfying.
We also own a cat breeding and boarding facility in Albany called Finisterre Cattery.
